International Women’s Day is recognised globally.
It is a day to celebrate women’s social, economic, cultural and political achievements. It also serves as an annual call to action for gender parity.
The world may be slowly moving toward equality, but there is still a lot to do

One positive trend is the number of women in leadership roles,
- From 2018 to 2019 the number of women on FTSE 100 boards increased from 29% to 32%
- 38.9% of FTSE 100 NEDs are women – the most ever recorded
- From 2018 to 2019, the number of women on FTSE 250 boards increased from 23.7% to 27.3%
- There are only 3 all-male FTSE 250 boards remaining
- 32.8% of FTSE 250 NEDs are women.
