The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise Winners 2018

On Her Majesty The Queen’s 92nd Birthday, 230 Queen’s Awards for Enterprise winners were announced.

The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise are the most prestigious business awards in the UK and recognise the best businesses in the country. Each winner is able to use the iconic winner’s emblem for 5 years, which is recognised as a global mark of excellence.

From the first winners in 1965, to the 230 winners this year, the criteria for the awards is notoriously rigorous.

Queen’s Awards Opening date and deadline:

The Queen’s Awards reopen for 2019 on the 8th May 2018, and deadline at midday on 14th September 2018.

Sustainable Development Category

In 2018, eight businesses won The Queen’s Awards for Sustainable Development for fulfilling the criteria. The winners are:

Each winner will have proved that their improved or their continuous sustainable development has helped their commercial performance for at least 2 years.

International Trade Category

A record 152 business won the Queen’s Awards for International Trade in 2018. Winners are from a range of sectors and include:

  • Alexander Mann Solutions
  • Cocogreen
  • SkyDemon
  • Vitabiotics
  • Nouveau Lashes

Every winner will proved outstanding year-on-year growth over three years, or continuous growth over six years. To win this award you must not have any dips in overseas sales during  the period entered.

Innovation Category

72 businesses won the Queen’s Awards for Innovation in 2018. Fast growing, innovative winners include:

Every winner will have a brand new innovative service, business model, process, or product that has been available for at least two years. The innovation must have delivered outstanding commercial success for at least two years, or continuous success for five years.

Promoting Opportunity Category

Just six businesses won the Queen’s Awards for Promoting Opportunity. This year’s winners are:

  • Esh Holdings
  • Grant Thornton
  • Willmott Dixon

Every winner has a social mobility programme that has been running for a minimum of two years. Winners had to prove that their initiative has benefited the people involved as well as the business in terms of reputation, savings, and growth.
